By downloading, installing, or using Trippu, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1 Information We Collect
To provide a seamless, reliable truck-booking and fleet management experience for Shippers, Fleet Owners, and Drivers, Trippu collects the following types of information:
A. Personal and Business Data
- Account Information: Name, phone number, email address, profile picture, and login credentials.
- Business & KYC Verification: To comply with transport regulations, we collect government-issued identifiers and documents, which may include GSTIN, PAN card, Aadhaar card, driving licenses, vehicle registration certificates (RC), and national/state truck permits.
B. Location Data (Critical Functionality)
- Background Location (For Drivers & Fleet Owners): Trippu collects precise, real-time location data even when the app is closed, running in the background, or not actively in use. This is mandatory to enable live shipment tracking for shippers, calculate accurate ETAs, optimize routes, and assign nearby trips.
- Foreground Location (For Shippers): Collected while the app is open to easily pinpoint pickup and drop-off locations.
C. Transaction and Logistics Data
- Trip Details: Pickup/drop-off addresses, type of material, freight weight, selected truck types, and historic trip logs.
- Financial Information: Bank account numbers, UPI IDs, or digital wallet details to facilitate freight payments, driver advances, and automated fuel card integrations.
D. Device and Usage Data
IP address, device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and crash logs to monitor app health and prevent fraud.
2 How We Use Your Information
Trippu processes your data to fulfill our operational and legal obligations:
- Booking & Matching: Connecting Shippers with available Trucks and Drivers.
- Real-time Tracking: Providing live transit updates to Shippers and Consignees.
- Verification & Safety: Authenticating driver credentials and vehicle fitness to ensure network security.
- Payouts & Billing: Processing freight charges, driver advances, and automated invoice generation.
- Communication: Sending automated transactional updates via SMS, WhatsApp, and push notifications regarding booking statuses and payments.
3 Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We only share data to execute logistics services:
- Between Platform Users: Driver and vehicle details are shared with the assigned Shipper. Conversely, Shipper and delivery point contact details are shared with the Driver.
- Third-Party Service Providers: Trusted vendors assisting with payment gateways, SMS routing, cloud hosting, mapping APIs (e.g., Google Maps), and instant KYC verification.
- Legal Compliance: When required by law enforcement, judicial courts, or regulatory authorities to prevent financial fraud or clear transport audits.
4 Hardware Permissions We Request
To function on your device, Trippu will request the following explicit Android permissions:
- Location (Fine/Coarse & Background): For core tracking features.
- Camera & Storage: To allow drivers to upload photos of physical documents (Driving License, RC) and Proof of Delivery (PoD) bills.
- Phone/SMS: For OTP verification and to allow direct calling between Shippers and Drivers.
5 Data Security and Retention
- Security: Trippu uses industry-standard encryption protocols (SSL/TLS) to secure data during transmission and when stored.
- Retention: We retain account information and business verification documents for as long as your Trippu account remains active. Trip records, logistics data, and financial records may be retained for longer periods where required for operational, audit, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, or legal compliance purposes. Upon expiry of applicable retention periods, data may be deleted, anonymized, or archived in accordance with applicable laws.
6 Your Rights and Data Deletion
You have the right to access, modify, or permanently erase your data.
Account Deletion: You can request the removal of your account and associated data directly through the Trippu App Settings menu or by visiting our account deletion page or by emailing our support desk at support@trippu.co.in.
Subject to applicable law, Users may also:
- Request access to personal information held by Trippu.
- Request information regarding how their data is processed.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of personal information where legally permissible.
- Withdraw previously provided consent.
Please note: (1) Certain transactional records and legal documents cannot be deleted immediately due to statutory financial and logistics compliance rules. (2) Withdrawal of consent may affect the availability of certain Platform features and services.
7 Children's Privacy
Trippu is a B2B/Commercial logistics tool and is strictly prohibited for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8 Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect changing app features or legal mandates. We will notify you of changes by posting the revised document inside the Trippu app and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
9 Cross-Border Data Processing
Certain trusted third-party service providers used by Trippu, including cloud hosting, analytics, communication, and mapping providers, may process or store information on servers located outside India. Trippu ensures that such processing is performed with appropriate security safeguards and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
